SWANS OF WELLS TRAIL MAPS

Swan fans use their Swans of Wells trail map to find Candela, sponsored by All Hallows School,
decorated by pupils with artist Fiona Campbell and on display by the Bishop's Palace moat
Sculpture trail maps were available from outlets across Wells including the Bishop's Palace, Wells Cathedral shop, Wells Museum, Wells Library, The Crown Hotel, Tesco, National Trust, Tincknell Country Store, Cook in Broad St, Twelve Junior Toys, Pumpkin at Wedmore, Rock House Dental Practice and Beah Restaurant off Union St Car Park.  Maps were £1, with all event profits being donated to local Wells charities.

The trail maps also featured a voucher for £1 off ice cream at Tincknell Country Stores, as well as photos, event details and Wells visitor information.

LOCATIONS
The 60 fabulous swan sculptures, decorated by some of the West Country's finest artists, were displayed in locations across Wells, with a few intrepid members of the flock venturing further afield, including Glastonbury (Wells Road), Wedmore (Borough Mall), Wookey Hole Caves (coming soon...) and The Swan pub at Rowberrow.

SWANS DISPLAYED UNTIL SEPTEMBER
The swans were on display throughout the summer, until 'Swan Upping' began in early September, when the swans were brought back to the Swans Nest for restoration before the Swansong Charity Auction.

SWANSONG CHARITY AUCTION - 29 SEPTEMBER
The auction of the fabulous contemporary art sculptures took place at The Bishop's Palace in Wells on Saturday 29th September.  The auction was broadcast live online, so that swan fans everywhere could be part of the proceedings and bid for their favourite swan from anywhere in the world!

All profits from the Swans of Wells event will be distributed to local Wells charities in early 2013, with a particular emphasis on youth projects.
